‘Malaysia Remains Our Country to Defend,’ Says Air Force Chief

Malaysia’s National Day celebrations featured a powerful message of patriotism from Royal Malaysian Air Force chief General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, who delivered an oath to defend the nation while sitting in the cockpit of a Sukhoi SU-30MKM fighter jet during the aerial display in Putrajaya.

Leading the aerial salute for the second consecutive year, Norazlan pledged that the country’s air warriors would stand firm in defending Malaysia’s sovereignty.

His message emphasised sacrifice and duty, with the TUDM chief declaring that Malaysia would continue to be defended regardless of the personal cost. 

The 10-minute display began at 9.30am and featured four Sukhoi SU-30MKM jets, four F/A-18D Hornets and three BAE Hawk 208 aircraft flying in formations including Kite, Diamond, Delta and Victory Combine.

Transport aircraft, helicopters and assets from other security agencies also joined the display, showcasing Malaysia’s defence and operational capabilities.
