1 min read

Two men were arrested in separate incidents at Singapore’s land checkpoints for attempting to smuggle drugs. On March 17, a 29-year-old Malaysian man was detained at Tuas Checkpoint after Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers discovered 25 bundles hidden in his motorcycle’s rear box.

The haul included 14kg of heroin, 2.6kg of “Ice,” and 190g of “Ecstasy.” The following day, a 29-year-old Singaporean man was arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint with 81g of cannabis concealed near his waistline. Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers also found drug paraphernalia. Both cases highlight continued vigilance at Singapore’s borders against drug trafficking. – Photo: ICA/Mothership
