Malaysia’s Over Development Problem In Real Estate

1 min read

The overdevelopment of residential apartments in the Klang Valley in Malaysia has become a topic of concern among netizens. Many are questioning the affordability of these apartments, which often have a high price tag of at least RM500,000, with some starting at RM1 million.

Do we have an overdevelopment problem?

While some believe that these units are good investment opportunities, others argue that many Malaysians cannot afford them due to slow income growth. Some netizens accuse property developers of deliberately building more expensive units to maximise profits, while others argue that banks play a role in driving up property prices as higher prices lead to higher profits.

Moreover, some netizens claim that developers use cheap materials for supposedly high-end properties. However, some argue that there are more Malaysians who can afford these properties than people think.
