Saying that ordinary Malaysians are suffering from the machinations of their politicians, The Economist portal says Malaysia’s politics are rotten from the top. That was before TS Muhyiddin Yassin quit last week.

Ordinary Malaysians, meanwhile, feel angry and ignored. The pandemic has emptied the exchequer and revealed gaping holes in the safety net. Among the young, unemployment has reached nearly 12%.

The Economist says Malaysians expected politics to change after 2018 when a corrupt bunch of leaders were thrown into the opposition but Muhyiddin brought them back to power…
