A 51-year-old Singaporean, Toh Sze Ee, went on trial for attempted murder after allegedly running over a Bangladeshi cyclist in Kaki Bukit in March 2023. Prosecutors said Toh drove a rented van into Mr Hossen Selim, 32, following a dispute linked to contraband cigarette dealings.
Attempted Murder
Mr Hossen suffered severe injuries and later died in Bangladesh about two years after the incident. The prosecution alleged Toh intended to cause fatal harm, while the defence claimed he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Dashcam footage captured the collision, and Toh was later arrested.
