Deputy President of MIC, M. Saravanan, has refuted reports suggesting that the party will be granted seats in the upcoming Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) elections. He stated that the previous reports claiming the Malaysian Indian Congress’ allocation of seats in the Selangor PRN were incorrect.

Saravanan clarified that while the political party had initially requested the Sentosa DUN seat, which had a favorable chance of winning, it was ultimately retained by PKR after negotiations between PH and BN. As of now, no seat has been promised to MIC for the Selangor elections.
MIC Selangor had previously asserted their allocation of DUN seats, but their chairman, MB Raja, noted the uncertainty regarding the exact number of seats to be allocated. Following discussions with PH Selangor, BN has now been granted 11 DUN seats to contest.
