A Japan Airlines flight collided with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. All 367 passengers and 12 crew members on the JAL plane escaped alive. Six crew members on the coast guard plane died, and its captain remains in serious condition. As the passenger jet skidded to a stop, the captain of the Coast Guard plane radioed his base, reporting the aircraft’s explosion. The cabin of the passenger jet filled with smoke, causing panic among passengers. Firefighters deployed 115 units to tackle the blaze. The incident is under investigation.
