Muar cleaner dies from severe burns four days after cooking gas explosion at home.
A 51-year-old cleaner, Fauzisham Darwis, died in Muar after battling severe injuries from a cooking gas explosion at his Taman Pagoh Jaya home on December 18. He suffered burns covering 60% of his body and spent four days in the ICU at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital before passing at 12.15pm on December 22. Friend Hanafi Taib said Fauzisham’s oxygen levels plummeted despite treatment.
Gas Explosion
The victim was alone when the leak ignited around 8pm. He was found outside the house. Burial took place at Kampung Terus Panchor Muslim cemetery. Police are investigating as sudden death.
