Muhyiddin: BNPN Collab Now Leaves BERSATU as Sole Opposition

1 min read

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin declared that Perikatan Nasional (PN), through its cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN), is indirectly supporting the Unity Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He said this alliance has created a major gap in Malaysian politics, leaving BERSATU as the only true opposition party in Parliament.

Muhyiddin, who is also MP for Pagoh, stressed that the issue is not whether BERSATU can withstand challenges, but that it must. He argued that no other party remains credible enough to provide checks and balances against government policies, citing rising fuel prices, cost-of-living pressures, and stalled institutional reforms. He accused UMNO and BN of hiding weaknesses behind slogans of Malay unity, calling it a “sandiwara” to gain power. Muhyiddin pledged BERSATU’s commitment to remain steadfast in defending the people and advancing the nation.
