JEMPOL, July 20, 2026 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil has dismissed Khairy Jamaluddin’s assertion that Barisan Nasional’s cooperation with Perikatan Nasional in the Negeri Sembilan election signals PH must be more sensitive to Malay concerns.
Muslims in PH
Fahmi questioned whether Khairy believed there were no Malay Muslims in PH, citing leaders such as Anwar Ibrahim, Mohamad Sabu, Dzulkefly Ahmad, Amirudin Shari and Aminuddin Harun. He urged Khairy to avoid false narratives, stressing that many PH leaders are Malay Muslims who understand community issues.
Fahmi added Khairy’s remarks appeared to be an attempt to rebuild his political standing after time away from frontline politics. He insisted PH remains committed to Malay and Islamic values.
