Najib Razak had a wish to put 1MDB’s civil suit on hold pending the outcome of his criminal trial and this is exactly what the 1MDB legal team agreed to do.
This is a reprieve and a relief for Najib who is going back and forth from the court to defend his role in the massive global scandal. He has 12-year sentencing awaiting a final appeal this year.
Long wait
The court has agreed that the civil suit of RM8 billion against Najib brought by the 1MDB company will have to wait until Najib’s 1MDB criminal case is over and done with. That means a long time to come!
