Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed disappointment over the development imbalance between Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak despite more than 60 years of independence. He emphasized that the people in Borneo have yet to fully experience national unity, particularly in terms of basic infrastructure development such as roads, treated water supply, and communications. While the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak has been completed, Sabah has only just begun one phase of the project.
