Netizens Calling Out Individuals Donating to Najib While Complaining of Insufficient Funds 

Former prime minister Najib Razak is currently open to receiving donations for his conditional pardon. However, there is a small movement online where ordinary Malaysians are donating thousands of Ringgit to the former prime minister.

Netizens pointed out the irony of some individuals donating RM1,000 to Najib while simultaneously lamenting their own financial struggles. Social media users questioned whether such contributions might have been better spent on paying their own bills instead.

Individuals Donating for Najib’s Conditional Pardon

A Threads user proudly posted a screenshot that he gave RM1,000 to the former prime minister. However, a post in August done allegedly by the same user, shows that he was complaining about it being the 7th day of the month and claims that his salary is low. 

X users are expressive towards the situation, asking why would anyone donate anything if they allegedly were complaining about their finances a month ago.

Some are coining a new term for these supporters calling them “walajib” while discussing the cases against the former prime minister. Additionally, many view that donating to a family that is extremely wealthy is rather gauche.
