A 44-year-old nurse was seriously injured after she was allegedly stabbed six times by her 47-year-old husband at their home in Kampung Padang Lepai, Kadok, Kota Bharu, on Tuesday night. Police said the woman suffered stab wounds to her body and neck and is receiving treatment at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II. The incident reportedly occurred at about 8.30pm before police received a report later that night.

The suspect reportedly surrendered himself to police and has been remanded for seven days to assist investigations. Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the attack. Authorities have yet to establish the motive behind the incident as investigations continue. The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which covers voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon.
The case has drawn attention to concerns surrounding violence within households, particularly when victims suffer serious injuries from people known to them. Police are continuing their investigation while the victim remains under medical care. Further action will depend on the findings gathered during the investigation and the evidence obtained from the scene.
