The previous viral story about a Starbucks worker telling off customers for speaking in English has sparked a debate among X users. However, before that, there were users who made similar statements but claimed they were treated better by staff if they ordered in Malay or broken English.
Starbucks order in broken English may get you better service, allegedly
A few months ago, a user claimed to have experimented with a Starbuck branch by speaking proper English and broken English. He states that the treatment he received was astronomically different. The user then states that if you try this, you’d definitely dislike their baristas.
Since the viral case happened, users claim that they will now order drinks in Malay, which includes the word “pancutan.” It appears that this is obviously satire and that it is doubtful people would come out and openly say that.
