In Singapore, PAP candidate Zaqy Mohamad raised concerns over foreigners exploiting race and religion for political gain during the election period. Criticizing Malaysia’s PAS for urging Singaporeans to vote along racial and religious lines, Zaqy called it dangerous, contrasting it with Singapore’s 60 years of fostering harmony. He warned against such divisive tactics, recalling past racial riots. Singapore recently directed Meta to block Facebook posts by PAS leaders and an ex-Singaporean Australian citizen attempting to influence the election. Following this, two Malaysian politicians – PAS treasurer Iskandar Abdul Samad and Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar – issue separate statements denying the allegations that they are interfering in the elections.
