PAS Faces Heat for Calling Bajau Dance Corrupt

A recent Facebook post by PAS Kawasan Petaling Jaya faced backlash for insinuating that the traditional Igal Igal dance by the Bajau people of Sabah was corrupt. 

The now-deleted post showed Umno Sabah leaders at an event in Kunak, Tawau, handing money to dancers, which is a customary practice.

The post sarcastically labelled the act as “Generous” and questioned Malaysia’s state. Netizens, especially from East Malaysia, criticised the opposition for their ignorance of local traditions, leading to the post’s removal.
