KOTA BHARU, Sept. 6 — PAS has declared it will not surrender any parliamentary seats deemed winnable to other parties ahead of the 16th General Election (PRU16). Election Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said PAS’s central and state machinery will identify constituencies with strong winning potential and ensure they remain under the party’s control.

“Seats we can win must not be given away. Giving up winnable seats is not sincerity, it is foolishness,” he stressed during the closing of the PAS President’s policy speech at the party’s 72nd annual congress. Sanusi reminded leaders not to feel inferior when negotiating with other parties, warning against bowing to newly formed groups. He likened PAS to a “party of elephants” that should not fear “cats” with little strength.
He also urged party machinery to strengthen preparations, noting less than 300 days remain before PRU16.
