PAS Youth Information Chief Khairul Nadzir Helmi Azhar said the decision was made to safeguard the trust and confidence of voters. “This motion was agreed upon by all committees, including the central PAS Youth leadership, to ensure that seats won by PAS must remain contested by PAS in any political cooperation,” he explained.
PAS currently holds 43 parliamentary seats and controls more than 150 state assembly seats following recent elections. The assembly also passed four other motions, including one urging the government to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry into alleged corporate mafia networks.
