Pearly-Thinaah Push World No.1 to the Limit in Indonesia Open Final

1 min read

Malaysia’s top women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, delivered a spirited performance in the 2025 Indonesia Open Super 1000 final but ultimately fell to China’s world No.1 duo, Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning. Despite a shaky start and trailing 8-14 in the first set, Pearly-Thinaah fought back to win it 25-23 in dramatic fashion. The second set was tightly contested early on, tied at 8-8, before the Chinese pair surged ahead to take it 21-12. In the deciding set, Liu-Tan proved too strong, sealing the victory. Still, Pearly-Thinaah’s grit earned them praise from fans and pundits alike.
