PETALING JAYA: A political analyst has advised PKR to abstain from the upcoming Sarawak state elections, due by April 2027. He argues that this move would ensure Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim secures the backing of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in future general elections. PKR’s participation in Sarawak could strain its federal alliance with GPS, part of the ruling coalition with Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, GRS, and Warisan.
