KUALA LUMPUR – Two men from the Wangsa Maju Federal Territory Residents’ Representative Council (MPPWP) seen in a viral video allegedly demanding protection money from a business operator have been arrested by police. They were allegedly soliciting protection money from a business premises.

Federal Territories PKR Leadership Council chairman Azman Abidin said the decision against R. Vijeyndran and G. Paarthiydasan was made during a PKR Political Bureau meeting on Wednesday. He stressed the move was necessary to allow police and internal party investigations to proceed without interference. PKR reiterated its commitment to integrity, warning members against misconduct, while urging Kuala Lumpur City Hall to monitor massage centres in Wangsa Maju. —
