Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called for a halt to actions and statements in the dispute between Petronas and Sarawak’s state-owned Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros). After speaking with Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg, currently in London, Anwar announced further discussions upon the Sarawak Premier’s return. “All parties should cease from taking any action or issuing any statement,” Anwar urged, expressing confidence in an amicable resolution through “healthy and meaningful discourse.” Johari acknowledged tensions with Petronas but remained optimistic, stating, “We’re playing the game a bit with Petronas, but we will resolve it,” emphasizing a fair approach despite Sarawak’s unfulfilled revenue expectations.
