Bangladesh PM Hasina flees amid mass protests
Hundreds of thousands of protesters defied curfew, marching on the capital’s streets and entering the Prime Minister’s palace. Soldiers and police barricaded routes with barbed wire, but vast crowds tore down barriers. Local media estimated up to 400,000 protesters.
Protests have escalated into some of the worst unrest of her 15-year rule, with 98 killed in clashes yesterday and over 300 deaths since protests began last month.
