SHAH ALAM, Oct 3, 2026, The use of the PAS logo is seen as the most practical option for Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming Melaka state election should the coalition’s logo remain suspended. PAS, as a key component party, has its own machinery and organizational structure, making the transition smoother. However, adopting the PAS symbol could narrow PN’s broader identity as a coalition aiming to appeal beyond its traditional base.
On the other hand, the possibility of PN contesting under the Barisan Nasional (BN) logo would mark an extraordinary development in Malaysian politics. Symbolically, it could be interpreted as a major step toward Malay political unity and pragmatic cooperation between two blocs that have long been rivals.

PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan recently confirmed the coalition is awaiting clarification from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) regarding its suspension. He said PN is prepared to use component party logos, including PAS’s crescent moon or BN’s scales, if necessary.
Observers note that while logos are not the sole determinant of electoral success, they serve as powerful political signals, shaping voter recognition and confidence in candidates.
