1 min read

Malaysian police have launched a manhunt for a driver who crashed a car through the barrier at the Second Link checkpoint near Johor on Feb 22 before fleeing towards Singapore. Videos of the incident circulated on social media, prompting authorities to seek public assistance in locating the suspect.

The vehicle reportedly knocked down several traffic cones and attempted to evade security personnel before speeding toward the exit lane. Auxiliary policemen tried to intercept but the driver continued on, leading to the ongoing investigation.

Police have urged witnesses to come forward and have reviewed CCTV footage from the checkpoint, saying that public cooperation will be critical to apprehending the suspect and understanding the motive behind the dangerous manoeuvre.
