Malaysian police have stepped up monitoring of foreign interests and religious sites across the country following rising tensions in West Asia. Authorities say the increased security presence is aimed at preventing any potential threats linked to the ongoing geopolitical situation.
Police Boost Surveillance Of Foreign Assets And Religious Sites
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said police have instructed all state contingents to increase patrols and security deployments at key locations. These include embassies, religious institutions and other sites that could potentially become targets during periods of international conflict.
He added that security agencies are working closely with the National Security Council to continuously assess developments and maintain stability within the country.
Authorities emphasised that the additional monitoring measures are precautionary and meant to ensure Malaysia remains safe amid evolving global tensions.
