Projek Sama has denounced the syringe attack on former minister Rafizi Ramli’s 12-year-old son as a dangerous escalation in political intimidation. The NGO said the assault shows that irresponsible actors are willing to cross every boundary, even targeting children, which violates democratic norms and decency. It warned that systemic weaknesses, biased institutions, and uneven political conditions create a permissive environment for such acts. Projek Sama urged a transparent police investigation, institutional reforms to ensure accountability, and safeguards to keep political engagement non-violent. Rafizi alleged the attack was linked to his role as an MP and vowed not to be silenced.
