Since its relaunch on July 1, the KLIA Aerotrain has achieved 99.19% operational service availability, transporting 5.33 million passengers over nearly 40,000 kilometres.
RM190k Fine for Poor Aerotrain Service
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah told Parliament the system is still in its two-year defect liability phase, with mechanical and signalling adjustments ongoing. Between July and September, 19 disruptions were reported—some due to passengers forcibly opening train doors.
Service providers may face fines of up to RM190,000 monthly for failing to meet standards. Hasbi assured efforts are underway to ensure safe, reliable transport at KLIA, responding to concerns raised by MP Khairil Nizam Khirudin.
