Selangor residents can now use the state’s RM30 monthly public transport subsidy for KTM Komuter services, following an expansion of the scheme with immediate effect.
State Investment, Trade and Mobility Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the inclusion of KTM Komuter complements existing coverage for Rapid KL On-Demand and Kumpool services, allowing the initiative to reach more public transport users.

The subsidy is part of the Selangor Resilience Package, which aims to help ease living costs for residents, particularly workers and students who rely on public transport.
Managed by Rantaian Mesra Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), the programme is being implemented with transport operators and digital payment platforms and will run until December 2026.
Ng said more than 90% of previous recipients selected Rapid KL On-Demand, with those aged between 26 and 35 accounting for the largest share at 35%.
The scheme offers 50,000 quotas and is open to registered Selangor voters aged 18 and above, subject to a household income limit of RM3,000. Only one application is allowed per household, while existing BINGKAS and Skim Mesra recipients are excluded.
Approved applicants can receive the monthly subsidy through the Nine e-wallet and use it for eligible KTM Komuter services via supported KTMB platforms.
