A kidnapping case in Subang Jaya has taken a dramatic turn after the rescued victim was detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985.
Bukit Aman CID Director Datuk M. Kumar confirmed that the 44‑year‑old man, initially reported as the victim of a RM7 million ransom demand, tested positive for drugs and was linked to a trafficking syndicate.

Investigations also led to the arrest of two local men in their 30s, one a former policeman dismissed in 2023 for drug offences.
Both suspects are now remanded for 10 days. Earlier, police had detained six individuals within 48 hours of the abduction, including five men and one woman.
Authorities believe the incident is tied to organized drug distribution networks, with further suspects still at large.
The case underscores the complex overlap between violent crime and narcotics syndicates in Malaysia’s urban centers.
