Rodziah Now DEMANDS Clarity Over Frozen Constituency Funds
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15, 2026 – Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail has issued a strong statement demanding accountability after constituency allocations under her office were frozen since July. She said recent remarks by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil implied misuse of funds, creating a damaging perception that MPs had diverted allocations for personal gain.
Rodziah stressed that constituency funds are public money governed by strict oversight, including regulations from the Finance Ministry, annual audits by the Auditor‑General, monitoring by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department, and direct accountability to taxpayers. “Every ringgit spent has records and justification, open to scrutiny at any time,” she said.
Rodziah Demands Clarity
She demanded Fahmi clarify whether his comments were directed at her, the Ampang service centre, or other MPs, and urged him to present transparent evidence if misuse was alleged. “If the accusations are baseless, I call on the minister to retract his statement and apologise not only to me but to the people of Ampang whose reputation has been unfairly tarnished,” she added.
Rodziah reaffirmed her commitment to defending the rights of her constituents, warning that allocations should not be used as political bargaining chips. “The people of Ampang are not pawns. Their right to constituency funds is not a weapon for political trade,” she declared.
She also reminded the government to uphold the principles of reform, justice, and constitutional integrity that underpin the MADANI administration. “If these values are abandoned once in power, what difference is there between us and those we replaced?” she asked.
Rodziah concluded by pledging to continue serving her constituents with or without allocations, insisting that their welfare and dignity remain her priority.
