While expressing solidarity with Palestinians, he condemned individuals who allegedly obstructed police duties. Two protesters were detained but later released. Civil society groups—including Suaram and Amnesty International Malaysia—criticised the arrests and urged a review of police protocols.
They claimed officers escalated tensions. Saifuddin reiterated that a peaceful assembly must respect the law and public safety. He affirmed confidence in PDRM’s conduct and called on Malaysians to cooperate with authorities while upholding their right to protest responsibly.
