The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Bursa Malaysia have launched the inaugural InvestSmart x Bursa Marketplace Fair 2026, bringing together their flagship investor engagement platforms for the first time.
The two-day event aims to improve financial literacy, help Malaysians make more informed investment decisions and strengthen awareness of investment scams. The initiative combines investor education, market insights and practical guidance for those looking to enter or better understand the capital market.
Investor Education Takes Centre Stage as Scam Concerns Grow
SC chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi said broader participation in the capital market is important for building a financially resilient and inclusive society.
He noted that fraud concerns and limited access to reliable investment information remain barriers for many Malaysians. From January to July 2026, SC received 1,272 enquiries from people checking investment opportunities before investing, compared with 530 complaints from scam victims.
Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said the collaboration brings market experts, listed companies and financial institutions under one roof.
The initiative is also aimed at younger investors, helping them understand opportunities, risks and investment tools before moving from saving towards investing. Both organisations said stronger financial education can help Malaysians participate more confidently in the country’s capital market.
