Eight Selangor Districts Shut Schools Over Haze

SHAH ALAM, Oct 16, 2026: All schools under eight district education offices (PPDs) in Selangor will be closed on Friday due to worsening haze conditions. The affected districts are Klang, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Sepang, Petaling Perdana and Petaling Utama.

Shut Schools

The Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) said schools under the Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam district education offices will continue operating as usual. However, all outdoor activities in both districts have been suspended as a precautionary measure. The closure follows deteriorating air quality caused by haze, which has affected several parts of the state in recent days.
