SINGAPORE, July 4 – Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the People’s Action Party (PAP) can continue governing Singapore well if each generation brings in “good people who are willing to serve” with diverse perspectives. Speaking at the Young PAP YP40 festival, Wong stressed that the party does not want everyone to think alike, but values different experiences and ideas to tackle future challenges.

He acknowledged that some youths are drawn to “underdogs,” but reminded them that Singapore itself is the underdog globally, competing against larger nations. Wong urged young Singaporeans to reject cynicism, step forward, and take action. The event also launched the Young PAP Academy and YP 40 Under 40 Action Fellowship to nurture future leaders.
