A 25-year-old Singaporean man has been sentenced to 11 years in jail and 10 strokes of the cane for deceiving minors online. He posed as a teenager to exploit a 13-year-old girl, lying repeatedly about his age and pressuring her into acts she did not understand.

Court records show he continued contact even after she discovered his true age. He also targeted a 12-year-old, sending inappropriate messages. The offences, uncovered by teachers and family members, highlight the dangers of online grooming. Prosecutors stressed deterrence, with the court ruling that deception and exploitation of children must be met with strong punishment.
