New: Skilled and semi-skilled Malaysians are working in Singapore, Brunei

The Department of Statistics Malaysia reveals that most Malaysians working in Singapore and Brunei are skilled or semi-skilled workers. In Singapore, 39 percent are skilled and 35 percent semi-skilled, while in Brunei, 68 percent are skilled and 24.1 percent semi-skilled. Studies conducted aimed to profile the Malaysian diaspora in both countries, focusing on their social protection needs.

The majority of workers in Singapore earn between SG$1,500 and SG$3,599 monthly, while in Brunei, salaries range from BN$1,000 to BN$10,000. Malaysians are drawn to these countries due to job opportunities, favorable work environments, and higher salaries, among other factors.
