Three-year-old Muhammad Akil Syauqi, who died after consuming snacks laced with rat poison, was buried at Kampung Banggol Berangan Islamic Cemetery in Baling. His body was transported from Penang General Hospital to his grandmother’s house and later to Surau Lebai Ahmad for funeral prayers. Some reports say the snack was part of a monkey trap.

The burial took place at 9.45pm, attended by his mother, Nurain Hasnorizal, family, and around 300 people. Akil and his two-year-old brother, Muhammad Luth Syauqi, ingested the poisoned snacks they found in a neighbor’s orchard. Akil died this morning, while his brother remains in critical condition at Penang General Hospital.
