BENTONG — A 24-year-old soldier critically injured as he was left unconscious after being assaulted by a corporal at the 25th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) camp. District police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd. Kahar said the incident occurred around 8pm on March 30, when the suspect allegedly punched and kicked the victim repeatedly. Six other soldiers, aged 19 to 22, were also reportedly attacked.
Soldier Critically Injured
The victim remains in ICU at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Temerloh, requiring respiratory support, while others were treated at Hospital Bentong. Police arrested the 37-year-old corporal, who is remanded until Saturday under Section 325 of the Penal Code.
