GEORGE TOWN: Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim Chee Keong has called for the immediate cancellation of a planned “Ops Terjah” demonstration at a Hindu temple near Hospital Bukit Mertajam on March 7. Sim said Malaysia’s diversity must be respected and warned that racial or religious provocation would only fuel anger and resentment.

He added that he had asked police to prevent any provocative gathering. State PKR Youth also condemned the proposed assembly, describing it as irresponsible and potentially inflammatory, and urged authorities to investigate and take firm action if laws were breached.
