SWCorp’s ‘Hargai Makanan Elakkan Pembaziran’ campaign encourages sharing leftovers with those in need to reduce waste and environmental harm. Efforts to minimize single-use packaging and promote recyclable materials like glass can also help.
Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shared Malaysia disposes of 8.3 million tonnes of food waste annually, with 24% still edible. Cairul warned that Aidilfitri waste disposal might rise without better management practices.
