She however urged the judges to continue to make decisions without fear or favouritism though she did not reveal did not reveal who she was referring to. “Last year, attempts to intimidate or otherwise put undue pressure on judges presiding over public interest cases became more apparent. This was a direct insult to the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary.
“Those responsible are indeed to be condemned and indeed many are firmly speaking out against them. It is mischievous for anyone who tries to tarnish the Court’s image and tarnish it through unfair, biased and often unconscious criticism just because they don’t like certain decisions,” she said. She ruled in the case of ex-PM Najib Razak related to the SRC International scandal which is linked to the 1MDB scandal.
