KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching has refuted viral social media allegations attempting to link her and DAP to gang-related activities and a fatal car crash in Kulai.
Speaking in Kulai, Teo described the claims as false and fabricated, noting that new accounts were created specifically to target her. “I have been in politics for 18 years and served as an MP for 13 years. To claim that I was involved in such activities is a false accusation because they merely showed photographs of me with someone, when it was simply a normal social activity,” she said.
Teo Nie Ching Denies
Police have reclassified the August 25 crash as murder, arresting 13 suspects aged 15 to 31 in connection with a secret society dispute. The incident involved a Toyota Vellfire ramming a Perodua Myvi, killing a 17-year-old passenger. Weapons and vehicles have been seized.
Teo and Senai assemblyman Wong Bor Yang have lodged reports with police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Johor police confirmed the arrests and stressed investigations are ongoing. Teo welcomed the probe, saying she had no involvement and supported thorough enforcement against gang-related crime.
