PETALING JAYA: Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching has called for a review of the Pontian municipal council’s decision to shut a dental clinic for 30 days after the Jalur Gemilang was mistakenly hung upside down. Teo said while the mistake was wrong, police had already determined it was unintentional, making the penalty disproportionate. She warned the order could set a negative precedent and discourage people from flying the national flag. The closure, issued under a 2019 by-law, followed a viral video of the incident, which also triggered heated exchanges between DAP and Umno youth wings.
