Now that’s a story to tell. While most young people are surely dreaming of a brand new car, this relatively young Malaysian of 29 thinks differently and he proudly sports his second-hand 1999 Proton Saga, with pride.
He has spent some RM9,000 (S$2,776) over the past four years or so on the car and he says adding: “After four years later, here I am today, still with this car but with most problems solved and repaired.”
For him, it is about savings, financial stability and perhaps a minimalist lifestyle. Not an easy choice to make in this decade of spending and ‘great resignation’. It serves as an example to all of us!
