Three men were sentenced to life imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane by the High Court after being found guilty of trafficking 32 kilograms of methamphetamine in 2019. Judge Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid ruled that the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt.

The offence took place in a condominium car park in Jalan Desa Pandan. Uvaraja also received an additional two-year sentence for possession of small quantities of other drugs. The case, prosecuted by DPP Wan Ahmad Hijrah Wan Abdullah, saw the three accused represented by senior lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.
