1 min read

TOKYO, April 5, 2025 – Two tour buses collided on the Chuo Expressway in Hachioji, injuring 47 passengers, mostly foreign nationals from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan. The crash occurred when one bus rear-ended another amid stop-and-go traffic en route to Lake Kawaguchi. Over 10 people were hospitalized, though none sustained life-threatening injuries, per Kyodo News. Police attribute the accident to the second driver’s failure to brake in time. The outbound lanes were briefly closed.
