UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki stated that the party has no connection to the recent discovery of cash and gold bars. He emphasized that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should be allowed to conduct a transparent investigation without interference.
UMNO Distances itself from Ismail’s Investigation
UMNO takes any attempt to link the party to the MACC investigation seriously and will take legal action against those who falsely associate the party with the case. The MACC seized approximately RM170 million in various currencies and 16 kilograms of gold bars worth RM7 million. The case is being investigated under the MACC Act 2009 and AMLATFPUAA 2001.
