Unemployed Singaporeans to Receive Up to RM22,000 in Aid

Singapore has announced the SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support Scheme, offering financial aid of up to SGD 6,000 (approximately RM22,000) over six months for unemployed individuals, allocating SGD 200 million.

Launching in mid-April, the scheme targets retrenched or dismissed individuals earning SGD 5,000 or less monthly. Eligibility requires participation in employment-related activities like career coaching and job-matching. 

Structured payouts range from SGD 1,500 initially to SGD 750 in later months, halting upon employment. Complementing this, the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme supports long-term training with combined allowances up to SGD 21,000. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and resilience.
